Veterinary Tips: Water Water Everywhere-It Should Be!!

A sufficient water supply is as important for pets as it is for people.  Water makes up about 80% of your pet's body and ensures that all bodily systems run efficiently, including digestion and circulation.  With access to clean water, your pet will drink enough to stay hydrated.  Some mistakes pet owners make that result in insufficient water supplies include failing to clean the water bowl daily.  Dirty water has a funny taste and can make pets ill.  Bowls may also tip over easily, so choose varieties with wide, weighted bottoms.  In the summer, water evaporates quickly; check bowls several times per day.  Filling a bucket with water won't work if pets cannot drink when the bucket is half empty.

P.S.  Your pet will need extra water after excercising.
